BYC Café

Good morning, Cafe.

That is a lot of progress!

I'm getting there.

Looking good DL.:thumbsup

Thanks!

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made.
It's find my nest chicken challenge today. Chickens 4, Shadrach 0.:(
The gooseberry bushes I transplanted are doing well. They've got leaves budding.:celebrate
Not sure about the kum kwat trees yet.
Onions gone in on the roof trench. I'm tempted to put in some tomatoes out the front where I can keep an eye on them.
The main vegetable garden is just a weed patch now. Heartbreaking after all the work I put into it.:(

I know the feeling about looking at your vegetable garden and seeing it full of weeds. I have 4 beds I need to prepare for spring.
I had maybe a handful of tomatoes last year. The chickens really did a number on them.

I saw that my garlic has started to come up. Another sign that this cold weather will soon be behind us.

Have a great Monday everyone!!

Your coop is really coming together now Dobie! It looks pretty big, what are the dimensions (sorry if you've said and I've forgotten)?

Listen for the egg song. That will often give away the nest location

I never mentioned.
It is 8'x16'. I'm keeping the front 8'x4' portion for storage, the nest box access and the brooder.
I've got 13 LF and 3 bantam chicks coming in less than a month. I currently have 11 LF.

That's a wonderful size! Will you have a chance to work on it more today or do you have to do work-type work?

I am back to work at the plant for the next three days.
I'll lose half a day Thursday because I've got to make a trip north with Mom for her regular kidney check up with her nephrologist.

I'll get the coop interior completed in time for the chicks. I'm hoping that the ground thaws enough to run the trencher over to the coop to get it wired up before they arrive.

Your coop looks great DL! Nice size too. It's so much easier to be able to walk in and stand up to do chores when you need to clean up.

Have a good day at the salt mine!
