I personally don’t see the appeal of owning such a dangerous bird. Especially since most people likely would not want to own such a bird so what was he doing with the babies I wonder?? And are the eggs good to eat?? Or maybe they are meat?? Or sells them to millionaires cause they’re rare?? I just don’t get what he was doing with them. Also, obviously horrible that he died, but sounds more like a velociraptor/dinosaur than a bird :hide

The article I read said that an owner needed a special permit to have them, similar to tigers and etc. I suppose.

IM did you page me ie: Crazy?

I'm blissed out with my caffeine free diet coke, straight up AND a brand new Haagen Dazs Rocky Road ice cream, checking out my friends on BYC.:caf

Oh I dunno. I've seen my chickens do vicious things. Maybe they're related :idunno
I think I'll need to look into that...

IM, I like you well enough to share my Rocky Road ice cream with. Have 5 more "almost" pints. Sadly only one grocery store still carries that flavor & brand. I am trying to ready myself for the time when it will be gone forever. Isn't that a part of getting older :hit?

Huh, that makes sense. Yeah, this one didn’t seem to have very many specifics ha

Maybe he was routinely doing the same thing with this bird with no problem and got a false sense of security. Then he fell and everything changed in a heartbeat.

Yeah that is probably exactly it!! Like how people have lions and tigers in their house and even in their beds and walk them, cuddle them, etc. and then one day they get mauled. And even whether intentional or not, sometimes they can kill just by play. Obviously the bird probably wasn’t playing but with the big cats and bears, their paws are so big and they are so powerful that they can kill someone even with just a playful swipe of the paw by accident.

Yeah, I think they are. I actually have read some articles before that say that birds are the closest living relatives to dinosaurs and that they actually have figured out now that dinosaurs likely had feathers instead of scales/lizard like like everyone believed. I forget if it was all birds that were closely related to dinosaurs or if they said chickens specifically were the closest. And I read another that said they are using chickens to try to recreate dinosaurs. Adding reptile tails and stuff.

Well DS learned that I have a pretty high tolerance for alcohol. We’ve been going since noon yesterday and she is in the bathroom right now praying to the porcelain god. Well at least she thinks I drank a lot. Most of my jack and cokes were just cokes. I’m a tad bloated tbh.

Can't stop thinking about what a good BYCER did to rescue some pure bred cattle dog pups from an Amish breeder. Sorry I can't be sure but I think it was Microchick. If I am wrong I apologize and would love to be corrected.

The farmer/breeder had tossed a dead goat in to the puppies pen as a meal. Perfect start so they will be eager to eat some more goats, etc. The wonderful BYCER bought all 5 puppies to rescue them and has decided to keep them all.

Aussie cattle dogs can have some serious genetic problems - like most breeds and I am betting the breeder never had any of his stock tested before using them. The picture of pups was adorable. I would have loved the lone female myself - she's the smallest and I would have hoped she'd stay smaller.

I hope the puppies will stay healthy. Thank you wonderful BYCERS for saving them :hugs
