I hear chirping. One pip so far :wee
So exciting! Chicks? Ducks?
Margie, did you send your weather my way? Just heard on the radio we have a pretty good chance of getting a mix of snow/rain by tonight.

Hope you have a great day!
Oh, no! Hopefully it peters out by the days end!

It depends on how big he is and how much she squats. Sometimes they will grab the comb on big combed breeds
Well, I was kind of assuming that the roosters are the right size for the hens. nature has a way of organizing this.
I can't see the comb grab working that well. For most of the combinations I have here that would put the rooster to high on the hens back and if he wasn't to twist his head, or her comb, thus causing injury he would topple off.:)

Comb grabs are definitely not the best for the hen!

I haven't seen Fugly go for combs here. He was hatched from breeder eggs. My older hens are hatchery stock and rather small and that dood has the longest legs! I'm hoping these newbies will be bigger girls when they grow up and he'll have an easier time with mating.

Well, I would be interested to know how he does it when he does it.;)
I would like to think I might pick up some tips but I guess I'm a bit past that now.:p:lol:
