BYC Café

Think I'll have a cup thank you. I bought a coffee pot the other day, just a cheapo, and I'm getting plastic tasting coffee from it. Tried running vinegar through it but didn't help. Guess I'll try again.
Gargoyle posted this but I'm stealing it. Pert your post made me remember it.

Tonight, DH told how when he collected the eggs today that "Rhoda was in the nest box all spread out and looking flat". :thShe wasn't in the box when I got home so maybe she's just thinking about it. But she sure has kicked up her ranking in the HBIC department. If she does go full out broody, she's only about a month late to do me any damn good.
I also had a scare when I was coloring my hair tonight. I thought I had washed my hands well after I took off the gloves. I had an itch on my left eye and rubbed it. About 30 seconds later my eye started to burn so I looked in the mirror and the sclera had a little swollen streak on it and was already bright red!! Eeep! I ran to the kitchen sink and pulled down the faucet sprayer and flushed my eye for about 5 minutes. That is a very bizarre sensation. But I think it did the trick as my eye doesn't hurt any longer. Looks like a demon eye but that might be fun at work tomorrow.
Never a dull day in this household.

Dobie Lover, I had a similar experienced at a shopping center last year. I was pretty worn out from walking back and forth from one end to another & finding nothing worth buying. When a young woman grabbed my arm and pulled me over to a chair .

She started powdering something under and around my eye, and then tried to get me to buy $ 599. worth of questionable facial products. I told her NO WAY. Then she dropped the price to $ 499. She kept it up, finally I said "I have $ 5.00 in my wallet, no charge cards. Her chin dropped to the floor - I think she "got it." I gained my freedom.

Waiting for the bus pick up, my eye started tearing and itching. By the time I got home upper and lower eye lids were quite swollen Felt like a rock was in my eye, of course I couldn't find anything. I flushed my eye with water but, it didn't help.

Told the bus dispatcher I would have to go to the eye doctor. He flatly told me , the bus was booked solid for dr.appts. for 3 weeks. Horse hockey. I told him an eye doctor appt. is not whimsy. He couldn't care less.

Finally my brother said he would take me on his way home from work. We sat in the waiting room for over 2 hrs. I told the doctor what happened. He didn't care, he decided I needed plugs in my tear ducts (both eyes). It might have helped except only one eye teared so didn't need 2- $ 495. tiny tear duct plugs.

I told him and he could see how inflamed the whites looked and how swollen the lids were. Didn't give me anything to get over that condition first. It was quite a long while till the eye stopped itching, and running and gave me some peace. SMH :tongue

Eyes are extremely sensitive, the tiniest problem hurts many times more than the injury would suggest.
