Do you know that only half of my aspens have half of their leaves and the others are just budding?
Same with the lilac bush, just starting to leaf out. The peas we planted before traveling are up and we have neww neighbors... (a neighbor took this pic)

How adorable is that. I'd love to see one in person.
In 2008, I ran a 210 mile relay race called Reach the Beach in VT. There were moose sightings by other runners. I hoped to see one on my night leg but no such luck.

Good morning Dobie. Hope you have a great day today!
Thank you IM! You too!!
I took Mom to have carpel tunnel surgery on her left hand yesterday. It was done under local and she is doing great.
I left the chicks with full access to their brooder/run and the main coop with the main coop pop door open so the bigs could come in or the littles could go out.
When I got home, the one brave band of 6 littles was in the compost bin! Fun getting them back in.

I think this is what is happening to the chicken as well. There was a study on aggression that found the breeding for 'better' temperament had altered the shape of a chickens brain. The study also found that the chickens in question had become less inquisitive.
It seems a bit strange and also a warning bell for humans who believe they know what they are doing when breeding for certain characteristics that in general game fowl for example that have had less breeding interference have a better reputation for human friendliness than many of the high egg production more domesticated breeds. But, game fowl, in general, have a worse reputation of aggression to each other.
There's something to be learnt in there somewhere.:hmm

Aw wow that is sad :(

Humans always ruin everything!!

I think I would be scared to see one if O was running! Those things can be vicious!
