BYC Café

Ack, one of my California valley quail babies got out. I will never catch it. Those things can fly!
Cap, do you have a 'recall' trap?
I once had my entire flock of Blues get out, I thought for sure I'd never see them again. I set out a recall trap and recovered everyone of them, took two days.

Good morning Cafe.
Coffe is made.
For a couple of hours early this morning a strong cool breeze blew up the valley as the sun shone over the ridge. Me and Tribe 2 and 3 stood in the shade eating a few walnuts and for a few minutes the world stood still.

I like silhouette pictures!

I ran a contest for them on a hatch a long. Sadly, they did not want me to run another one this year. Maybe next time!
Who are they and what didn't they like about silhouette pictures?

Morning Cafe

Thanks for the coffee, Shad
How is Bracket doing these days?

Everyone make it a great day! :celebrate
Bracket and I are experimenting at the moment Sean. I think we have come to accept that the disability may be permanent and it's now a question of making things as comfortable and practical as possible for both of us.
I'll update the thread at some point.
Thanks for asking.

I can relate to that...I've had and still have one pheasant with wry neck. Lives in a big enclosure in the house. It's a struggle (for me to watch) everyday just to watch him get around but he does just fine, eventhough it is painful to watch. I don't have a top on it cause he doesn't attempt to get out but every once in awhile something sets him off and he will fly out and wander around the house! he's so tame there isn't a problem picking him up and putting him back into his apartment. :D

The inconvenience for me at the moment is the early morning call for her rooster to come and get her.
She wants to be with her tribe which I understand, I'm still trying to work out how to build something that will allow her to be at the same height as the perch in which she can sit in her strange position without the risk of falling out and when she stands, come and go at will.

Nope, but it sounds like a good idea. I was hoping it might go in the barn with the parent birds. Then I could shut the doors.
