I haven't seen @sourland anywhere since Monday. Wasn't that around his birthday?
I saw something about him going on vacation. I don't know when he's due back.

That great!I saw something about him going on vacation. I don't know when he's due back.
That great!
I'm also a little jealous that he and the Princess get to vacation so often. All I can manage under my current circumstances are Staycations where I work on some project that needs completing.
No news on the job front. Same rumors: I'm on the list to go to Binghamton. But who's list?I hear you! My work hours have gotten shorter but DH still works 15-17 hour daysBut I think my oldest son is coming for a visit in September so there's that!
Dobie, any news on the job front?

My manager, the Director of Engineering, has been offered a position with TTM. He told them "no way". He wants to be part of the clean out crew and then sail on into retirement. He is an amazing manager that I will dearly miss. It's his list that I am on. He is not part of the "in" crowd as he voices his opinions regularly regarding the mismanagement of the company (and look where it is now, so who was right?).
I'm going to wait and see. If I don't get offered a job, I'll ride the unemployment train for a few months and work my little tushy off on my house and get my mom's house on the market. Then I'll go out and find work. Or try to find a nice flip in the neighborhood and tackle that.
I'm not worried about me. I have survived more than one company closing and have come out in a better place every single time.
It's truly sad to see the devastation others feel at losing a job. It is an opportunity for growth. You don't know what you are capable of until your are put in a position of "sink or swim". I wish more people would try harder to find new skills, motivation, whatever and develop them.I like your attitude, you'll be fine!
It's funny watching roosters herding hens. I was watching Treacle trying to herd Ruffles early this morning. Ruffles was last out of the coop and Cillin had gone on ahead with the rest. Treacle was waiting for Ruffles at the bottom of the ramp. When Ruffles did eventually come down Treacle hopped around her kicking his offside leg out in a very agitated fashion; probably worried that Cillin would come charging back and chase him away. Ruffles just side stepped Treacle and got on with nibbling the grass. Treacle had another go; Ruffles side stepped him again and wandered off in the opposite direction Treacle wanted her to go. Treacle was getting a bit frustrated now and Cillin was on his way back to collect Ruffles. Treacle went for the full on hackle flash and it was a really fabulous display; he got the lot up for at least half a second. Ruffles moved a single step and sat down.Good morning, Cafe.
Thanks for the coffee and the walnut bread, Shad. I'll pass on the cod. Too early in the day for me but I did take a piece to put in my salad for lunch.
My little Mr. Fabio is definitely coming back around. He allowed me to groom him last night with no attempts at pecking my hand. He has calmed down so much you'd think he was a different rooster. I had a very pleasant morning just sipping my coffee and watching the flock mull about the run and pen.
I saw Fabio herding one of the pullets last night on the run camera. This is the very same pullet I watched Monday morning pull on his beard feathers and tug on his wattle hard enough to open his mouth. I wonder what she did to get him to herd her out of the run.

As soon as Cillin arrived up she got and followed him to join the others. Poor Treacle comes over to me and did the look you in the eye shuffle and pecked me on the boot. I walked all the way to the sheep hay rack at the other side of the field with him much to his delight.![]()
Thanks, Debby!Morning Cafe, hope everyone is doing ok today!
