Okay, test 1.
I broke off two sections of a walnut, too big for chicks but okay for adults.
Ruffles, the one on the eggs broke her piece into lots of small pieces and made clucking sounds. Tackle just ate hers.

This is very interesting for me. Naturally I'm watching......riveted might be a better description.
Tackle has changed her position and is now in front of Ruffles looking into the nest box.
Tackle can hear the chick and bent her head in almost underneath Ruffles. Ruffles half stood up and Tackle was able to see the chick; I couldn't.

Any chance you could 'borrow' a grandkid or two for the summer? Maybe that would get you some extra help (if they're old enough that is).

I already asked about this, the answer was no. SMH.

I'm not quite sure Debby. I did write the hatch day down on a piece of paper and left it by the keyboard. You know what it's like with those bits of paper, I think the paper eating gremlin got it.
They hatch when they hatch if they hatch. I can't really miss it given where the nest is.

I mark the set date on the eggs.

Bracket (Miss neurological problem) in the pet carrier.
Myth in another pet carrier resting up her leg which she twisted earlier this evening.
I may as well see if I can find a spot on a perch in a coop. I'll probably get more sleep there.
