BYC Café

Thanks, Shad! I'm having such a great time watching them!

I'm looking forward to the post from DL where she writes I've got six broody hens and I'm ripping my hair out trying to make them understand that I just can't convert the house into one giant coop to accommodate everyone.

DON'T CURSE ME!!! It took forever to break Astrid.

I have central air and heat, heat pump unit. My electric bill is between $60 to $140 when I have brooder lamps and incubators running 24/7, the average would be $80 every month, and the AC runs 24/7 here in summer. I supplement with a butane space heater during cold months, Dec - Feb. it really helps keep the bill low.
I am considering a heat pump for here when I replace the central heating and air.

They're great. I had a ground source one at one of my houses for heating and A/C.
I live in the ideal part of the country for heat pumps too. The record low here is 17F and It usually does not go below 30 most winters.
