Back to the simple life discussion...
I lost my big paying Chemical Engineering job early 2013. I had 2 mortgages and had just signed a contract to buy my first flip. Yikes! Three houses and no job. Fun times.
I decided then and there that the big house was going to go and we were going to down size. We lived in the flips as we did them and finally landed the house we are in now. I LOVE my little house! I own it outright and the taxes, insurance and utilities are really low.
I never want to go back to full time work. I may have to, but I don't want to. I live on a fraction of what others think they need.
I've had too many people to count tell me that I need to flip as many houses as I can. Why, I asked. "So you can make lots of money!!" As if I was daft!
So many people don't understand that money is not the source of happiness.
In the infamous words of Sheryl Crow:
It's not having what you want
It's wanting what you've got
(Now I have that song stuck in my head)
