:lau You beat me to it. :highfive:

He played a great Rumpelstiltskin too!

I call mine every day. I don't mean to be a jerk, but its the most miserable part of my day. She's been traveling with my sister & I've only called her twice in the last two weeks... I feel like I'm the one on vacation. I know her time is short & it'll be really sad when shes gone, but frankly, she's not a super nice person.

My mother is in Alabama visiting my sister. Her house here is up for sale. Part of me hopes she'll move out there, it would simplify my life. Absence supposedly makes the heart grow fonder...

My mom moved up near my sister 8yrs ago. It was a relief to stop driving 3hrs every week to check on them, but the guilt of my sister having to carry the entire burden is palpable.

Does your mom have medical issues Roomy? My mother doesn't she's just, well, her. Sometimes that's enough.

Yes & no. She has severe nerve damage from a nasty case of shingles (that she ironically got from the stress of moving:rolleyes:) but she has other nonmedical issues that are sometimes harder to deal with than the medical ones. Before my dad died he had dementia, foot issues from diabetes & a lot of other medical/age related stuff. Its all been really hard on my sister, so the least I can do is call my mother everyday & make sure shes eating & occupy a little bit of her time. Its still a chore tho because my mother is a very angry & negative person. I have to put my shields up before I call & try to shake it off when I hang up.

My brother doesn't give a damn. He hasn't called since he can't get money from her.

Ugh, that's tough! It's great you help your sister though, I'm sure it's appreciated.

That's so sad! Igor has a cousin who, now that her father has passed, is sucking her mother dry and I guess being abusive. Some of the cousins and in laws have discussed turning her in for elder abuse. They talk, they're not much for action because the scandal would be terrible. If I knew more I would do it myself, but I'm on the fringes and don't associate with them...
