Thanks Margie! Hubs is familiar with all of it and I got some practice with the quail. These are naked necks so less feathers which is a definite plus.

I've read different things here about how long to leave them in the fridge though. 3 days or so before freezing? Anyone?

I think the ashes are cleared away but I definitely have a higher hairline today than yesterday

P.S. To the rest of you, I did this yesterday in a fight with a smoker (the smoker won)

Mentioning rude awakenings . . . .

I'm not sure any rooster could beat a loud crash from the kitchen at 4:30 a.m. Still trying to figure out how they did it, but some cat knocked a drain rack full of dishes onto the floor. Lost two plates, a glass, and two coffee mugs (one of those was an old friend from my college days). *sigh*

Can somebody remind we why we keep pets?!

Debby, that frantic emoji reminds me of something Grandpa McCoy once said about Kate, if you're familiar with the show. He said she was running around like an old hen with her tail feathers on fire. Silly thing to remember from so long ago.

I remember that show Pert...The Real McCoys, right? Grandpa was funny

I also remember Luke even further back as the nasally talking high school kid in "Our Miss Brooks".

Oh yes, and Mr.Conklin , Eve Arden was great. I think "Luke" was "Walter Denton,"on "Our Miss Brooks." The guy Miss Brooks had a crush on was Mr.Boynton.

A great show without cussing, wardrobe failures, etc.

I picked up three lakenvelders about a month ago they are awful refusing to integrate with the others one ended up dead from crazy white dog these may not make to the weekend but if they live to friday I will take them to auction Saturday I will get some 3 birds at auction not lakenvelders

Yikes, bad luck. Never had that brand of bird. Hopefully, the next ones work out better!
