So sorry Bunny and Dobie.
And DD, it sounds like you are better off without her!! Addiction is a terrible thing. Makes people do and say things they never would otherwise.
And that story actually reminds me of one my friend once told me. She was in the city and there was this homeless person there that asked for money and instead she gave him a sandwich. He got all mad. He didn’t want it for food, we suspected he wanted it for alcohol or drugs. It’s sad, really. :/
I saw another guy, on TV, one of those drug shows, who would go out with his dog and a sign about being a homeless vet and he’d talk about his dog if they asked, said he was his best buddy, and he’s had him like 11 years, etc. and I think all that was true: he loved that dog and I’m pretty sure he really was a vet BUT he didn’t spend the money on the dog or food or rent or anything. He went right back and spent it on drugs. And he’d tell the camera people stuff like “oh I made enough to buy a rock of crack today” or whatever it was. Of course he made tons of money being a vet and being so personable and with a cute dog. Lots of families with kids gave him money I think and tons of other people. Sad. Although actually I remember that episode made me mad that he could take advantage of people like that and represent vets that way. But just goes to show you can’t trust anybody these days.
Anyway, my dad still smokes but he at least does it outside. Although he never goes very far away from the door or from you
He quit for a few years but then his friend came up to visit a few years ago or maybe it was closer to 5 now and he started back up and hasn’t quit yet. I keep trying to get him to quit again. He loved when he did.
And I never have and will never touch either (cigarettes or alcohol) because cigarettes are just plain nasty and I’ve seen what alcohol does firsthand and want no part in it. Plus alcohol is nasty too. Had a sip or two a couple times. It was gross lol
