Well... it happened.
Captain mounted one of the pullets, Brittany, right at my feet. Brittany only protested a little but there was certainly enough squawking involved to get Fabio's attention. He came running into the run and gave both of them a mild peck and did a half shuffle around Brittany.
Captain walked about 3 feet away and plunked down into the wood chips. Fabio walked over to him and stared him down until Captain got up and left.
That's it.
Big deal.
Seems as if Fabio is okay with Captain having the pullets as longs as he stays away from his hens.

Good morning, Cafe.
It's a bit cooler here this morning. I think I'll take the dogs out for a run. Ben has his buddy, Shadow, over again so it's always fun to keep track of the three boys ripping around the fields and through the creek while I try to keep Fuji from wrapping my legs up with her retracto-leash. Just hanging onto my coffee on those mornings is a chore but perish the thought that I'd not have it with me!

Are you officially on holiday now DL?

G'morning cafe.

My daughter was hit from behind on her way to work last night. No rental car place open to get a car so I went to get her...she was clear down by the airport. At least she wasn't hurt, it was after rush hour so my trip wasn't a long one and it wasn't her fault. She'll get a rental today and her vehicle was towed to the collision center last night.

Naturally, because when it rains it pours, my husband noticed his vehicle has a leak a couple days ago and he couldn't tell where it was coming from. He knew it wasn't engine oil or coolant so we were in wait and see mode until he had more time this weekend to look at it. This morning his a/c doesn't work and he'll be outside in the heat all day. Beautiful. He needs a new compressor, that's what's leaking.
At least he can use my car to get to work until his is fixed, silver linings right?

Sorry for logging so late coffee was welcome this morning weather changes take my pain level into outer space playing with a new sourdough starter from scratch pretty happy with it glad to hear you made it home sour half the time they speak no brains involved

Oh my gosh, I bet that was hilarious! I've been the victim of dog frenchies myself. It's amazing how quick they are

I've thought about ending up with my own little Fabio. Lordy, I hope not! I've already got Cheap Shot Charlie (Wyandotte), not sure I could handle two of them. Although, he seems to be coming round a bit. Haven't been flogged for a month, maybe? He's still giving me the eyeball, but...baby steps.

I've got to laugh reading you and DL describe your roosters with such affectionate language.
A month without flogging is good.................
I like the name Cheap Shot Charlie.
