I didn't like the article.

I think the whole thing needs to be taken with a very large grain of salt, like most tabloid "news."

It would take a fairly long time to bleed out from a leg wound like that. My suspicion is that she must surely have had some other reason that she couldn't get herself to medical attention.

I agree!! And I think that site is particularly tabloid like!

'ex' - past tense. 'spurt' - a little drip under pressure. :lau

I didn't like the article either. Or should that be also ?

:lau :gig :lau

And yeah, it wasn’t very well written and kinda tabloid like but it was the first one I saw. I’m gonna see if there’s a better one just for curiousity’s sake haha although I suspect we will never know the full story.

I’ll gladly pay! :lau Might have to charge IM too though! ;) :lau

And yeah, that’s true. I agree. I don’t normally like that site anyway but someone posted the link so just shared that one. I would like to do some more reading though and see if there is any more info anywhere else. But probably not. I assume she was alone when the supposed attack happened? So sadly we will probably never know the real story. But yeah, I didn’t like the article either. Not enough detail and made the rooster seem quite vicious when they really don’t know for sure.
If you like reading a lot of hysterical, badly informed nonsense about roosters I suggest you check out this site.

Tribe 1 minus Mel and Ruffles making their way to their coop. This lot go to roost sometimes an hour before the bantams. That's Fat Birds influence mainly. She likes to make sure her and the tribe get close to the coop while the light is still good.

Solomon and Jenny (Muscovy ducks) on the bank with a ewes bum behind the fence.

Punch and Mag. Yup, they're very bored and have taken to bossing each other about since their three hens are broody and sitting

Gedit, Notch, Donk (black and white and I'm a bit worried about her because she isn't eating enough) and Myth.

Ruffles and chick which I'm pretty sure is female. Good news for both Tackle and Treacle. Tackle will no longer be the most junior and Treacle will have a pullet to impress.

Knock and her two chicks. I've got a bit of a problem here. The hatched staggered and there is a 36 hourish gap between chicks. The smallest needs to be either quicker than the larger or stick close to mum in order to be first to what mum finds. Knock (Mum) isn't terrible keen on me providing food. She'll let the chicks have a few mouthfuls then lead them away and start digging. This isn't uncommon with the mums here. It can make getting medicated feed down the chicks a bit of a mission. I've taken to putting a small bowl of food in the coop and shutting the others in while they eat. Knock you can tell is hungry and eats as much as a broody hen does when she gets off the nest. The chicks seem fine but still very wary of me. Mum doesn't help given every time I put my hand down she pecks it. Bear in mind this is knock who stands on my lap, or gets on the keyboard as I sit in front of the computer.
I have no idea what sex the chicks are.

Coops are cleaned My young cockerel still is being a chick so to speak he is letting the girls eat but taking his share after do not think he sees me as a threat yet I treat him no different than the pullet talk to them but I do not cuddle my birds either .. The blue marans being raised by silkie I am certain the one is cockerel the other two pullets so will let all of them stay excited to see them grow up

Need to do coop cleaning tomorrow if it's not chucking it down.
An awful lot of how chickens and particularly cockerels react to their keeper has to do with the confidence and experience of the keeper. I think, the good keepers learn quite quickly.
