BYC Café

I've had a look at the books but I don't know anything about Paleo cooking and I'm hoping DL will give me the name of a book/s that she has found to be good.
I am indeed a bit of a mountain man but as you can see, we haz da web.

Yeah, it can be hard to know which ones are good or not!

:lau that’s true!

Idk why but for some reason I pictured you like way out in the middle of nowhere on some mountain so I didn’t think they delivered that far out :lau :hide

I've only used a few of the recipes but the book is by Crock-Pot and it simply titled PALEO Slow Cooking, Vol. 1.

If you want to learn more about the Paleo lifestyle, I highly recommend the book, The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf. You can find it on Amazon but I recommend eBay as you can buy a used copy for much less there.

I may have to check these out too haha

Thanks DL. I'll check out both books.

You're not too far out regarding delivery. I have to go to the village post office to collect mail.

Yum! I've never made one. Are they finicky with weather or humidity?
They do not seem to be finicky based on weather. Any oil in the egg whites will mess it up; the eggs need to be whipped to the correct stiffness and the flour\sugar mixture has to be folded in gently in thirds. The last thing is that the cake needs to be cooled down inverted(upside down) The spring form pan usually has a knob for that though

Morning think I drained the pot creeping crud hit me hard found unnamed frozen in the freezer thinking maybe bean soup so ham ? I don't care what I do not have to cook trying to cough up a lung BF is out to get Coricidin to dose me till then whining

Good to know. Thanks!

The hummingbird cake I made last month didn't freeze well. I think the pineapple in it made it too wet when it defrosted. The rest of the family still ate it, but I felt it needed to be squeezed out like a sponge. Not a problem, next time we'll just make sure we eat it all & leave no leftovers. :gig
