Um, no. You need a particular mind set to train dogs well. I don't have it. On the other hand, I do very well with cats...

Strangely it doesn't come out when the chickens are here. If that's not a good excuse to have chickens in the house I don't know what is.

I've been given dogs a couple of times in my life. Apparently I'm good with dogs.
For some reason I'm nothing like as sensitive to dog hair as I am to cats and that makes an awful lot of difference to my perception of the creatures. If a creature makes your life a misery, sore and swollen eyes, can't breath properly, sneezing etc, it's hardly surprising when they don't feature big on your favorite animal list.

I think it's supposed to be the dander, not the hair, that triggers allergies. I'm actually allergic to the 2 we presently have. I just have to remember to wash my hands & not touch my eyes.
