Yes! That would be the funniest thread around, but that's not my worse injury... I was cutting open a bagel for breakfast with a serrated bread knife and the bagel was frozen... The bagel slipped out of the plate and the knife slipped into my thumb. Blood was everywhere. I'm laughing talking about it because it was the dumbest thing I've ever done.

you should wear a mask and continually cough so that they move you to the front of the line. Tell them that you have the bird flu or something

My sinus infection and traveled south into my lungs. Joy.
Just to add to my misery, I'm off to the DMV to get that non-driver photo ID for DH. I can barely keep my feet from dancing.

Where in Asia did your grandkids come from?

If I might be excused for butting in, and my memory serves me, the girls were born in China (where, because they weren't boys, they weren't wanted). From one form of prejudice to another?

While I know it's human nature to feel a tad uncomfortable around anyone who is in some way different and therefore "not our kind," I have never understood the self-centered arrogance of anyone who thinks they have the right to act on that discomfort. I mean, seriously, isn't life hard enough without deliberately making it harder for someone else? How does that, in any way, make things better for you? (Along those lines, DS showed me a video of a guy "keying" a Tesla in a parking lot. Call it class envy or whatever you like, what this guy didn't think about is that those state-of-the-art electric cars have a bunch of cameras, and the owner had very clear images of him to give to the police and put allllll over the internet. It's just a matter of time before he's charged with wanton destruction of private property.)

Hopefully, at least the ringleaders at the college will get charged with hate crimes; it must be made plain that this sort of behavior is not tolerated.

On a much lighter note, one of my (many) dumb injuries involved a playful kitten trying to rip my nose off. Does that count?

@DobieLover hope you feel better soon. I'm not feeling so hot myself. I have a swim meet to go to this afternoon! Thousands of people crammed into a hot building with an Olympic pool. Oh joy! But hopefully my youngest kicks butt!
