BYC Café

Just groceries and supplies. No biggie. Because we don't eat processed food, we have to shop for produce about 3 times a week. I don't buy more than we will use in 3 or so days.

BUT (and this is me really going off track project wise :D) I want to get some Mod Podge, craft paint, wood varnish and fabric and make some coasters.

I had these really cute glazed ceramic coasters with pine cones imprinted in them. Over the years with Dobermans and Mogwai, the holder and all but one coaster have been broken. When I was in the waiting room at the hospital I read a little craft project in a Martha Stewart Living magazine on how to make your own custom coasters from cheapo cork coasters or wood crafting discs.

When I went to buy the tightie whities for DH, I meandered through the craft section of WM and lo and behold, there were three different bolts of fabrics with chickens on them!! Not to mention lots of other very pretty fabrics which I could use to make very lightweight, waterproof, colorful coasters.

This has been a little glimpse through my brain on how I get off track with things so easily. It's not like I don't have an entire house waiting for me to finish, market and sell. So I'm going to make coasters.
Something about making things is so satisfying! Sometimes I quilt when the house is a mess and I need to be doing stuff outside.

I've always been that way, I don't eat before 1. My body hates food before then. I drink about a gallon of water until I eat. Then I eat until 7 pm. I eat massive amounts of food in that time. Sometimes I might have breakfast, but it's pretty rare.

I actually lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks from my rituxan infusion. I was having a lot of swelling because Graves disease has completely messed with my body. I was supposed to have a surgery, but they canceled it two days before so I wasn't allowed to have my infusion for about 8 months because it can cause extreme infections with surgeries. I was swollen from my head to my toes and I felt awful... My body feels so much better now!
Penny1960 has Graves disease too!

@DobieLover usually when I have anything respiratory related I put Vicks vapor rub on. I put it on my chest and on my feet with socks on. Lots of warm tea with honey and lemon in it helps as well.

I'm hoping both of you get better soon! Enjoy your shopping as much as possible!
I have no Vicks but the VetRx is about the same!
I like to thinly slice chunks of fresh ginger root and boil it in water for about 20 minutes. Then strain off the ginger, add honey and drink that. It is good to soothe and upset stomach as well. I usually make a gallon batch and keep it in the refrigerator. Nuke it full strength when I want ginger tea and dilute down with water and drink it with ice as a nice spicy drink. It is great for controlling overall body inflammation.

I will have to try it sometime because I get inflammation a lot.

My husband is one of those people that could eat all day long and never gains a pound.

My brother calls him an evolved tapeworm with arms and legs :lau My family always picks on him and tells him that he needs to eat, but he literally eats everything! My kids are usually giving him their leftovers from their plates because they treat him like a garbage disposal :gig

I have to say that my husband said he's getting fat... I don't see it, but he does. He says it's because I cook so good. I told him to lay off the quesadillas :gigHe said no...
