I hope so. But it's also a shame to wait too long because if he turns out to be a good fit for me, he's stuck in the shelter waiting on them to decide instead acclimating to a new home. But I do understand and support their policy
I have noticed that a lot of these rescues or shelters take a long time to go through their adoption process. You would think that they would want to speed it up a bit to make room for other animals who are in need.

The animal control here has a shelter and they have a very easy adoption process, but you are adopting from the sheriff's department. Not a lot of bad owners will go there to adopt because the sheriffs will know about them from encounters they've had. Usually they ask for your veterinarian office and your pet records plus $10 for the adoption. Most people give more than $10 as a donation because they do so much for our county.

Is that it?!

Lovely pictures :clap
I'm obsessed with my fake fireplace. It puts off heat and looks real when you turn it on. Best piece of furniture DH bought me. I was always cold at night watching TV with him.
I'm a perpetually cold person. It's ridiculous. I bet that is nice!

Wow, that is very inexpensive to adopt. The local animal shelter here has a $125 fee for dogs and $75 for cats. More if they are puppies or kittens. Doesn't bother me, as I think it keeps a lot of people from buying them to use as bait or other wretched things. Cats for coon dogs, for example. But a lot of good people probably don't have that kind of money just for the adoption fee, ya know? I don't know, lots of factors there. :idunno

I think here it's so cheap to adopt from the animal control because it's run by the sheriff's department and they get a discount on a lot of stuff. The local vets office really helps them out with surgeries and such. They usually don't take owner surrenders unless someone is in dire need. Usually they are animals that they just find in the woods or ditched on the side of the road.

I've seen humane societies have fees of $300 and up.

I guess it all just depends on who runs the rescue, humane society, or shelter.

Just thought I would mention that in the top duck picture on the previous page is an example of the fowl waterers that we use here. They come with a handle on the top but...
I was going to ask you about that. I love that it's got a ramp that they can walk up and out of. That's what I need for my goose-er-roos. They seem to struggle with the slightest ledges sometimes.

I like my water buckets with Horizontal nipples was a bit concerned what age could use them bit the silkie do put the 4 week old speckled sussex next thing was they where all up at the water bucket for water activating the nipples so okay silkie raise them and school them :wee

That's what they used to wash clothes in here until about 30 years ago. The fowl water bottle is the ceramic pot on the right of the picture.:)
