Are you going to oil and wax the wood?

I haven't decided yet. We normally use that table for our chess board so it doesn't get a lot of wear and tear. I'm thinking about finishing with tung oil after I stain it. Do you have recommendations? I have mostly painted my past projects, haven't done much with stains.

Good morning Cafe

Thanks for the coffee, Shad

Freezing here this morning! :barniebut will be near 60° this afternoon.

Everyone make it a great day! :celebrate

South Texas freezing? That doesn't sound right...did you take a turn to the north on your way home from work?

Let me know if you need to borrow my snow shovel.

I use mineral oil and beeswax on the lamps and stuff.
I oil before the fine sanding and then oil again after. Once the oil has soaked in and dried, I work in beeswax with a cloth.

Do they require maintenance, oil and wax again later? I was reading that finishing with tung oil requires oiling the surfaces about once a year.

Yes, I wax and polish them from time to time.
