She's still a little nervous. I've never had a dog display displaced nursing behavior before so I just looked it up and lo and behold, the Doberman is a breed known for a strong propensity for this behavior.

Awww poor thing. :(

I’m sure she’ll settle in in no time though!!

What’s her story? Why was she being rehomed? How did she end up with you?

I had a cat that did it once. Would paw/knead and nurse. :hit :love

And Gator used to suck on pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, anything he could find/hold. But I don’t think it was nursing before but he would wrap his paws around it and hold it in his mouth. :hit

He did it when he was nervous/stressed out but he also just liked doing it.

I think it was comforting.

He’d plop on the couch with his pillow and do it ha relaxing maybe.

The woman that owned her imported her and her full sister (at 4 months old) and an unrelated male from Serbia to start her breeding program.
Bella had 3 litters, all C-section. She and her sister and an intact female Bulldog started fighting. Bella's face and legs are scarred up from it. She rehomed the male first, then Bella's sister then Bella. She kept the Bulldog.

Aww that’s sad. :(

But smart she’s rehoming them and thought of them instead of keeping them or trying to continue to breed.
