BYC Café

This was the sad fate of that cable I worked so hard to replug on Monday.
The insulation sleeve split on one of the branches during the final oven cure.

It took me about 7 hours to remove everything from the Y transition down the branches, get replacement parts and start rebuilding it.
I completely lost track of time thinking it was maybe an hour past quitting time. I bolted for the exit when I looked up at the clock to see it was nearly 8:00 pm! I got to work at 7:30 yesterday morning.

That was certainly a long day. Hope today goes better for you!

That outer covering DL, is it flexible heat shrink sleeving?
Heat shrink. I went up one size when I rebuilt it. I did the tough branch first then left the rest for my partner to work on. I won't be back to work until Tuesday.
It kinda bugs me. I really wanted to finish this build and write up the process to close it out. There are two cables in the order and I've got the second one ready to put the heat shrink tubing on. I've spent so much effort and learning on this order for him to get to take it across the finish line, it's a bit frustrating.

It will because I'm sitting on butt with a hot mug of coffee snuggled up with 2 little dogs watching Bella escort a hissing Mogwai through the house! I'm "off" until Tuesday.
I consider myself very lucky indeed that I enjoyed my long day yesterday and look forward to returning. Now I am switching the brain over to construction mode and getting back to work on dad's house.

The reason I asked is because we had major problems with heat shrink outer coverings on wiring looms. It gets pretty cold out of the cockpit in fighter jets and the thermal cycling used to split the heat shrink. We stopped using it in the end and replaced it with a waxed cotton covering.

Well, maybe the customer will call that out on the print if they run into a similar situation. Until then, we have to build to print.

Good Morning! Happy belated BDay, Ron! The cake looked wonderful.
Shad, maybe word will get out that the farmers in your neck of the woods are "Angry!" and people will go somewhere else to run their dogs. It also could have been the 10th goat that he has lost recently and he had just had enough of the BS... I guess I am with the farmer! DH shot the neighbor's dog with rubber buck because it was trying to get into the chicken pen two days ago. I think all 4 or 5 of their dogs have now been peppered and warned. Next time we are calling the sheriff if my other neighbor doesn't do it first.
Nice looking fish tanks you all!
We had a great time playing in the 60-degree weather so I guess we are defrosted enough to deal.
Our low is only supposed to get to 8F in a couple of nights. Time to restock the firewood!
Enjoy the day, Cafe!

Thanks for the coffee Debby.
Dare I mention the blue skies and sunshine here. It's a bit chilly at 57F.
Local drama here is on the next mountain a farmer shot two dogs that killed one of his goats and a couple of hens. The person who owned the dogs had parked their car on a track further up the mountain. The farmer found the car and shot out all four tires and smashed all the car windows.:th
Oh, dear.
