BYC Café

That's so cool Sour! It's good for younger people to have an unbiased party to unload on.

Sometimes it's scary like the time one kid told me that he was dealing drugs. I put him into shock with my response. It was instinctive, and can not be shared here. Many years later he came to me and told me that he had received a warning that he was on a list to be apprehended. He moved out of state till things cooled down and is now a responsible member of society. He said that he never forgot the warning that I gave him.

Lucky for him you were there. Glad to hear he's doing well now!

Sometimes timing is everything!

You can keep your snow there Bruce
OK, I just moved it to other parts of the property.

My DNA is all from Northern Europe
Ah, the northern branch of Neanderthals ;)

This is kind of random but I thought of it earlier soooo.... why do people RUIN perfectly good brownies by putting WALNUTS in them!? :sick🤢🤮:sick
I agree, no nuts in the brownies and especially no walnuts. Of all the nuts I've had they are the only ones I just can not stand. Any in a brownie need to be big enough pieces that I can pick them out and toss them otherwise "thanks but no thanks". On the other hand I have a friend who will not eat a brownie that doesn't have walnuts.

I used to take my 93-lb Golden to the car wash.
Must have been pretty messy in the car on the way home!

Walnuts, pecans, almonds, pistachios, peanuts...any sort of nut gets my vote!
You forgot cashews!:love
I believe "any sort of nut" includes cashews. And perhaps a few denizens of the Café.

Where else would you expect a chicken to be then?
Great view from up there!!

Years ago when I used to make Tollhouse cookies for the family....the kids wanted NO NUTS.....my husband wanted NO CHOCOLATE CHIPs but lots of nuts.....I wanted both so I stopped making them!!!;) There....that'll teach ya Mr. Picky Pants!!
Given that, by definition, a Tollhouse cookie has chocolate chips in it, I think your husband would have to request a different type of cookie. I'm with your kids, put in the chips, leave out the nuts :D

That's a great success story!! You'll never know how many kids you saved by lending an empathetic ear and some sound advice, without judgement.

Okay, I took some pictures, but I'll have to warn you, no one was in the mood to pose. :lau

Yeah, walnuts taste very weird to me. And have a horrible texture. Can’t stand them.

And yes toll house cookies need the chips
