BYC Café

Good Morning Sean. I read your interview last night....want to reflect on it and read again. The catfish experience was truly frightening.
Yep, I wouldn't want to go through that again. What scared me the most was the look of horror on my mother's face when she saw me that way, and my brother totally freaking out...then there was the look my dad had on his face when he got home...in all the excitement, my mom forgot to call him and tell him what had happened :D
I've always have been highly allergic to wasp, bee stings...but catfish, who knew?

Thankful you had quick thinking folks close at hand!!

Good morning Cafe. It's 11F out with flurries. The deck door was frozen shut again and required the hairdryer to get it open. Bella has not gone out of the house via the mudroom addition yet so getting the deck door open was a priority.
No raccoon tracks this morning. The poor bugger has probably realized there are easier meals to find elsewhere.

We've done it for 7 years. My dog was born to do therapy work...he's amazing. We used to have 6 hospice patients we visited every week for two years. When that was over we looked for a different setting. We had a request from the Community College and Ronald McDonald House....and so that's what we're doing now. We even did a television spot in December for them which was an great experience.
Two of my Dobies were therapy dogs, Amber and Dylan. We primarily did nursing home visits but I always wanted to do children's programs with Dyl.
Dylan, was exemplary. He loved children above all else and could spend all day with them. I could turn him loose in a daycare without a worry in the world and every kid in there would be delighted by playing with him and safe from any who meant them harm! He was such an angel and lost so young.

Good morning Tonya!

Good to hear no tracks were seen. Try and stay warm.

Wonderful! I've worked with/ known a lot of dobes over the years and each one has been a sweetheart! People are leery of them so I'm always happy to see them (and GSDs) doing therapy work....ambassadors for the breed!

G'mornin cafe. Thanks for the coffee Shad.

I have the grandkids today, the oldest wants to learn to make bread so we're doing that and some coop painting.

My rooster has won over 3 of the 4 big girls but he's been after one of the little pullets. Weirdo. He chases her all over the yard like he's going to claim her but she's far too young to start laying yet. Scratching my head over that one. Anyway, here's a snap of the handsome young man. Have a great day everyone
