BYC Café

It's pine pollen season here. I've considered taking a Sharpie and writing "pollen allergy" across my forehead to try to stem the tide of panic should I sneeze when I'm in public.
Cleared the room in a hurry when I sneezed in the men's bathroom at the Amish market. :lau
I've been drywalling and working in a generally very dusty basement while it is being swept daily. We wear masks but still end up sneezing a lot at home or when we go out. I personally like it. It keeps the general public the hell away from me.

Morning! Not much going on around here. It is going to be a pretty day so I guess that will direct the general nature of the chores.
Enjoy the day!
Good morning Margie! :frow

Glad your having a pretty day...makes the chores go alot better!

Good morning, Cafe - I brewed another pot. Beautiful day here . Going to hunker down at the beagle club this morning. All of our spring events have been canceled, and licensed trials (trials where championship points are acquired) are being canceled. Probably a good move as most of us fit the 'danger' demographic. :old Scary that Italy is now refusing medical care to the elderly and those with pre existing conditions. Their resources are overwhelmed, and they have more hospital beds per population than we do.

Need a couple of russet potatoes for dinner so headed to the grocery store...Needless to say there weren't any potatoes of any kind, nor any other kind of fresh vegetable or fruit. We ended up with one of the last boxes of dried potatoes. I'll be so glad when I have all my planting done
I would give a lot to be rid of my allergies.
I go to a gal that practices chinese medicine for my allergies. She has a no acupuncture treatment that has been a miracle in my life. Last week they got real bad so we combined it with acupuncture to stop the reaction.

Thanks for the coffee, Shad and goodmorning Perris. It's a rainy morning here. It's been rainy and misty for a couple of days and it's predicted to be for nearly a week more. Phooie
I agree! woke up to a huge thunderstorm last night. The girls run flooded last week despite being raised up on pavers. I'm sure it did the same last night. I'm heading out in a few minutes to put some logs and stuff in their to give them something to stand on that's not soaking wet and then maybe dig a small trench to see if we can divert the water. They are on a high spot in the yard and the ground is very saturated.

Pissing down with rain here now.
I've been watching with great interest the politicians here in Spain using the virus crisis to further their particular agendas which don't seem to have an awful lot to do with health care.
I think world wide we are likely to see a lot of this and by the end there will be a whole new raft of legislation that will be drafted during the virus crisis that will get passed unnoticed by the voters.
I can't help but feel for Italy. They have an almost impossible task and were in economic difficulties before the virus arrived. Italy has born the brunt of the refugees arriving to Europe without much in the way of world aid, not to mention the EU debt repayment penalties.
