Home Depot had the AC in stock and I used curbside pickup. The old was removed and I got it down stairs without too much trouble. The new one is installed and working well.

I replaced the electrical socket because the old AC scorched it. The new socket is rated for 20 amps

Is the wiring rated for 20 amps??

It looks like it is. The house has a lot of 20amp circuits and uses the same wire throughout.

The house was built in 1995 so it has fairly modern building code compliance

It has to be 12 gauge to carry 20 amps.
Why was a 15 amp device on a 20 amp circuit? These are the things that go through my head.

Yes, I was going to ask how the install went! Glad you have it installed. It's hot today, as you know!

I checked the wire and it is 12 guage.

Good thing I replaced the socket! It is on my list to check the other sockets that are on 20amps, like the microwave and the garbage disposal

Hmmm, looked like that at my house this morning too. No real sun because it is kinda cloudy. The snow is slowly disappearing in the balmy 35°F temp with wind gusts in the low 30s.

My third bird to turn broody in a week is in jail I really don't like to put them there, but I simply can't cope with another broody right now. I didn't know they were like London buses - you wait for ages for one, then 3 come along together!
