BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. We had another dusting of snow last night.
All day yesterday was like watching a manic flail around a room. One moment Mother Nature had the sun shining and the grass starting to show bright green through the snow, the next moment looked like a blizzard with trees bent sideways in the howling wind. Then back to sunshine. I hope she took some Prozac this morning. I was unimpressed with her show.

I saw one of these in my cranberry viburnum this morning:

It's a little Eastern Phoebe. Three days ago, I also saw a male hummingbird dive bombing a robin that was sitting up on the utility wire that runs across the chickens pen.

On the way home from running the dogs and picking up breakfast at Gigi's, I thought I saw a tiny bird just sitting smack dab in the middle of the road as I zoomed by. I turned around and sure enough there was a tiny fledgling Junco with one little tuft of down on it's head sitting there. So I managed to gather it up and move it off the road. The problem was I had a 50/50 shot of putting it on the correct side. Both sides of the road have deep ditches to cross to get to the land on the other side.
The good news is the parents were dive bombing me so they know where their chick is and can look after it.

It's been one of those try and get stuff done in between the storms day today. It's not very warm either. I've lit the stove this evening mainly to try to dry the place out. I've had some very damp guests.
I have managed to get a good bit done on some lamps though.
It's nice to get at least something accomplished in days like that.
I'd also like to see some lamps..
