Bella flushed a turkey out of it's hidey hole this morning.
Fuji startled a Junco off her nest this afternoon. The nest is in a perennial grass next to my back deck steps. I will not be pruning last year's dead blades of this grass clump. And will likely be putting a piece of fence around it to protect it until the chicks leave.

The Junco chicks will be out of their nest before Kerrie's chicks get out of the ward.

I'll do it on my own. If I can take down walls, rewire and replumb my house, install a mudroom addition myself with just help to lift beams into place, I'll be able to lift ceiling grids into place. Setting the tiles into the grid is cake. Getting the grid planar is the pain.

Hubby and I put that kind of ceiling in the apartment we built in a basement.

My Fair Lady (I think that's the right one) has a rather parochial view of Spain based around a few days on the Costa Del Sol and unrealistic imperialist dreams.
It gets worse.
Ask many here where I live and they'll tell you what applies to Spain, doesn't apply here because this is Catalonia!! and, as all who follow international news will know, Catalonia is not part of Spain.........etc.
Ahem...
Despite the rhetoric and misinformation I can tell you from contemporaneous notes; good enough for a court of law apparently, that it pisses down here with a vengeance on a regular basis.

Good morning Café. Thanks for the coffee, Shad.
I did NOT throw Kerrie out this morning!!!!!
I did, however, leave the flock locked in the coop/run, open the front door of the coop and the clean out door to the ward and toss a handful of bird seed and Flock Raiser mash outside. Kerrie saw it scatter and out she went. 3 chicks were brave enough to run right out with her. The rest needed a little encouragement from mom. But by god, they're OUT!!
When I released the rest of the flock, Fabio marched right over and stayed with mom and the kids while the others came to get a closer look. So far as I can tell, Una, Barb's only pullet from last July, is the only member who will not be tolerated around the babies. Mom launched a hell of an attack on her.

I wonder if he's already imprinted the chicks.
