It is cooler weather here again!

It is cooler here than there too! Supposed to hit 70°F tomorrow. Still cooler than there but warm for here, warmest day this year.

I'm sure I used to get more done per hour a few years ago.

Funny, I was thinking exactly that while working in the garden this afternoon!

Veronica plucked my beard for me. Too much? Just right? I'm kinda going for the goatee look...

Happens to my EEs as well. All except Penelope because she runs from all the other girls though she will chase some as well.

One hopes that people have enough common sense but that's probably a futile hope.

I caught Veronica on the coop camera pulling it out! And that nimwit just stood there and let her do it. You can see she also got most of his right cheek muff. He looks ridiculous when he crows. You can see his bare neck.
Veronica is an EE and she has a beard. I see she's been at some of the other EE girls too...

Fabio has a beard and muffs but no one bothers his. This is a first around here. But I'll tell ya, Veronica is a little off kilter. If I decide to sell a hen or two before winter this year she'd be at the top of the list.

I have three hatchery ameracauna growing up that will go in the main coop see what they do as they have correct muff and such

We've had so much rain - day after day, we actually had some standing water in the low spots.
That is as rare as hen's teeth.

Must have been a serious shock for them. I was a bout to ask if you were going to tube feed them.

Thanks Shad! No I wouldn't tube feed them, but they did get the first little harvest from my mealworm farm
I've given them some chick feed this morning, and they're taking that too. Everything is slow and unsteady (particularly in Obelix's case, but he does effectively live on stilts so that's not unusual for him ) and their heads are down on the floor a lot of the time even when they're standing, so I don't think we're quite out of the woods yet.
