I had put her in time out this morning because she was beating up on Darcy, our copper Maran. She was in a shady spot in a wire kennel on grass. An hour later, the sun was getting over the kennel so went to check on her and move her and she was dead. No feathers to suggest an attack.

Ya know, I’ve never had a predator get in my coop or runs. I’ve lost a few eggs to a couple snakes. But a lot more folks have had predator attacks on their flocks. And lost birds for many other reasons.
granted I’ve had to kill a few snakes. But so have others. I’m not going to feel bad over it. I can’t even make my own bed right now without nearly having a stroke. With my aorta valve not working right.
My chicks will be large enough before I put them in the coop to not have to worry about them. I will put something over the windows before then.

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made. Tea bags, milk and sugar are on the counter. The potter who is making my new tea pot has gone back to Madrid. She couldn't keep going with all the restrictions. I hope she comes back. While she isn't super artistic, she does good work.
It started off sunny here but clouds are rolling in again. It's great growing weather but not so good if you want to share the same environment as the plants!
The broody outbreak continues unabated here. Can't move for irritable clucking hens. Knock has got straw itch mite rash again. She seems particularly prone to it.

9 checks??? Who the heck is getting all these checks?

Have you considered that the foundation might be suspect if the windows are that off?

The 9 checks get distributed as follows: one to the listing agent, one to the selling agent, one to the Town Clerk, three to the buyers attorney, 2 to the sellers attorney and one to the seller. I still closed in about 12 minutes... on the back of my car in the parking lot outside my attorney's office!

I've not described the window issue in detail. The framing has nothing to do with foundation settlement. It's the way they were constructed. It's really weird. This is the listing for the house. It's the two windows in the front of the house.

I'm just going to remove the windows and reframe the RO to a 60"x48" and go with a single unit with one fixed window and one sliding window. This:

It's nice and cool out and the sun is shining. Time to run the dogs then get down to mom's new house and start tearing things out.
Bella never gives up trying to win over Mogwai. This approach, like most, never goes over well with Mogwai... Who celebrated her 18th birthday one week ago today.
