BYC Café

We don't have air conditioning here in any of the buildings. Most houses in the towns have it these days.
When I'm whining about the heat, I think ...lots of folks don't have AC, and just think if there was not electricity for fans!? I did a lot of flapping my book over my face while the power was out.

To be fair, it was really hot
My sister husband was born in Spain raised in France, they go back almost every year during the summer and spend one of weeks in Spain near the beach...the heat can be unbearable! I can always tell just how hot by the look on her face when they post pics.

Either I'm getting used to the heat, or just recuperated after the power outage and ladder climbing coop fixes after the storm...but feeling much better today.

The older houses and my place are built to cope with the heat. The problem for the old farmhouses is the winter; they're almost impossible to keep warm. I froze here the first winter. It got down to minus 9 C and it was bitter.

Good morning, Cafe. The coffee is ready. Hot water for tea.
We had a good soaking rain last night.
Fuji got into the jar of salted mixed nuts last night when I stepped out for 15 minutes. She looks like a sausage link but seems to be otherwise okay.
Hope she is ok. That's on the list of things that are bad for dogs.

Yes, I know. She's got this uncanny knack of getting herself into trouble like this.
When I came back in from feeding the chickens she'd dumped two huge piles on the kitchen and hall floor. Most of the nuts were still easily identifiable as such. She still seems fine. She's got a cast iron stomach.
