Pretty much all I drink is water other than the lunch Dr. Pepper.

I drink coffee in the morning and tea at night but do squeeze in water too! I rarely have soda or juice

Good news... bad news... good news... bad news??

Went out to lock up and do head count and all but one chick was roosted. Yay!

Opened up nest box to retrieve eggs and errant chick and found THREE broodies (hence why the chicks were roosted). Boooo!

One of the broodies is my dark eye lovely, Astrid, who I was rooting to go broody again this year so I could let her set. Yay!

Only the maternity ward is currently in use and the chicks aren't due to hatch until July 13th if they go at 19 days as bantams are supposed to. And then I want Veronica to stay in the ward for at least 3 days until the chicks are highly mobile. So my bare bellied Astrid has to wait. I don't want to break her, just discourage her until she can have the nest.

Can't have too many maternity units I've found.

Hey afternoon all had a appointment for nails and pedicure this morning very nice just me time think I need to start again they are right here in town.. We wore masks most the time .. Cleaned one coop still need get hardware cloth up also have shortbread ready to put on cookie sheets

They've been clearing the fire truck track up on the ridge today and have cut quite a few large branches. The Strawberry tree grows up there and it makes lovely lamp wood. I'll be up there tomorrow with the Nissan wood foraging.
Caught sight of myself in a mirror today. I look like a total wild man. In desperate need of a haircut and a shave. My nieice is due here in a bit over a week and she cuts my hair when she visits so it's just a matter of a shave.......

Can't have too many maternity units I've found.

I locked the worst offender, Una, in the elevated crate in front of the floor fan after a dunk. Boy is she pissed!
I closed the pop door to the coop and tossed the other two out in the run. They are clucking and pacing and not as manic as Una. Who knows? Maybe this will be a great way to break them.
