BYC Café

good morning Cafe.
Thanks for the coffee Shad.

We're going into town proper for the first time in months; wonder what it will be like? 🤔

One word answer - strange. We actually ate at a restaurant last week for the first time in 4 months. It was strange indeed.

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Shad and I'm happy for you for even a brief relief from that heat you live in.
I don't think it's going to be fun for you in town, Perris.
We are having our first day under 80F today and I'll miss it as I have to go back to work.
So signs of pipping with Veronica's eggs yet but everything is ready in the ward for when they do.
One of my little men was crowing away with his step-dad this morning!!
I booted Kerrie out of the crate. She bloodied her comb last night trying to get out. I hope I don't find her in a nest box when I get home...
Have a great day everyone.
Sadly she will likely be in the nest box!

You might have to give her a couple of chicks to break her

We had lunch on a patio in Davis...and have passers by give us dirty looks!

She is the one I posted about a few weeks ago complaining about what do you do when your broody goes broody. She was walking along the board doing the turkey strut before she'd even finished with her first chicks. This is a bit too OCD for me. She and the other Cuckoo Marans, who is one of the meanest hens I've known, are being sold with one of the cockerels.
I didn't know why they were called Cuckoo until I got some.

It might be time to rehome that one!

I have chicks hatching today. Already have orders for Mottled bantam cochins, Tolbunt polish and Mille Fleur D'uccles.
Chicks seem to hatch a lot at your place!
