BYC Café

Good afternoon Café. I can't believe this is the earliest I could stop for a visit.
I've brewed a fresh pot of coffee.

I got a call from my insurance agent last week telling me that the company that insured my mom's house cancelled the policy after inspecting the house. The first complaint on the list was "There's a missing deck board on the deck. That's a trip hazard!" No kidding. I popped a board to inspect the framing. I'm not putting a rotted deck board back down.
This is where I stopped today to move the work inside.

I should invite the insurance agent back and ask them "How do you like it now?"

There's no cure for stupid.

What do you put in the gazpacho Shad? I could use some cold food recipes.
It depends Roomy.
For a drink I make traditional Spanish Gazpacho, that's with ripe tomatoes and cucumber. I use a blender for that and put it in the fridge. Lots of recipes for this on the net.
I also make original Roman Gazpacho but it's an acquired taste.
(pound garlic cloves in a mortar, add a little soaked stale bread, then olive oil and salt, to make a paste.) I put stoned black olives in this along with white wine vinegar, water and sweet paprika. I put chopped anchovies in if I've remembered to get any. This is more a hot winter version.
Eat by dipping soft white bread into it.
This is more of a soup and it has texture.

Sneaky little devil. I bet she was just waiting for you to turn your back before she headed back to her hidey hole.
Don't you just know it.
It won't be long before tracking systems have small enough sender units that and are of a low enough price to fit them to free range chickens. For someone with similar keeping arrangements to me they would save so much time and stress.

:lau It looks like progress! but definitely a trip hazard LOL

Did you know an inspection was due...and did they know you're in the middle of renovations?
Yes, they called me and I told them it was under renovation. There isn't much I can do about it until I get the deck on and the rear of the house sided with the new door and coach lamps. I'm sure the coach lamps and door trim were issues too.
