BYC Café

I've been out in front of the main house helping to pick grapes. There are three vines that grow up the South facing wall. The vines have always been very productive. They produce wine grapes, not eating grapes. It's night time here and we've been up ladders with head torches. You can't get anywhere near them in daylight because of the Asian Hornet that arrived here a few years ago. The hornets like the grapes with is marginally better than killing the bees.
I've just washed and eaten a bunch. I much prefer them to the normal eating grapes one can buy.
They're a bit on the sharp side but have so much more taste. The chickens love them.

I think I've got 2 pullets and one cockerel Gold Sebright and 1 pullet and 2 cockerel Mille Fleur d'Uccles. Hmmm. I've got to figure out which of the bantam boys will stay. I'm leaning towards the Sebright.
Astrid regularly runs up to me to get food to give the chicks. This batch of broody chicks is no where near as afraid of me as the past batches. Another plus on Astrid being my go to broody in the future.

What the hell was she thinking?
She was thinking...."Ha, he'll never find them here!!

There!
Mower deck removed and disassembled,
then everything put back together where it belongs.
Intended area mowed. Might mow more later.
Crawling around on the ground is a bear...let alone getting down and back up.

She's still doing the mum bit for the elder chicks then?
