Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.
Last day of work.
I managed to get DH to the salon for a haircut last night so he'll be all spiffy for his "vacation".
He asked me on the way home who he'd be staying with. I said I assumed the sister that called. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body.
He said he did not want to stay with the evil sister (the one who has given me all kinds of crap pretty much from day one, the one I banned from our house) because "she is mad at me"?? No one could be mad at DH! He's too damn sweet! I can only imagine it has something to do with that grenade of an email I launched into their camp to let them know where I stood on all the nonsense they started and making it clear the evil sister wasn't stepping foot on this property again and that DH supports my decision.
All I could do is try to get through to him that if he got down there and felt trapped or wanted to come home that he needed to call me and I'd come get him.

I've seen this thread before but never clicked on it until now. Glad I did! Days are definitely getting shorter! I'm locking up the chickens at 5:30 now instead of 9...I miss the later nights. They haven't slowed down laying yet but two are molting..lol they are gonna freeze pretty soon since one just started molting this week. I was doing some before the ground freezes weeding this afternoon and let the chickens run around in the garden while I was weeding. I felt like a haggard mother watching 11 chickens, a dog, and trying to weed! I have a busy road right next to my property so sadly they don't get to free range much. They loved to scratch in the dirt as I pulled the weeds out, lol they tilled half the raspberries for me they got a treat of pumpkin skins when they went back into their run. Oh! I should've taken a pic for the contest! Or did it close already? Anyway. That's enough for now! Have a good evening!

I used to let my flock free range but they started hiking up the dirt road and venturing way too far down the road and across the road and stopped traffic in the road. Okay. That's enough.
Now they have a 1/3 acre pen to stay in. Everyone is just fine and dandy in there.

Does this sister asking for the visit have a recent negative Covid-19 test? Would be rather sad if he caught it while being there.

What a wonderful way to start the day @Perris ! Here the last days all started very foggy, although clearing up later to let some sunshine through the clouds. It is getting rather chilly now after some days of unusual warmth.

Tree guys are coming today to take out some dead trees in my front hedgerow and a dead tree back by the dog pens. Just got done moving all the dogs to the beagle club for the day.

the view out is by far the best bit of this house! It does indeed lift the spirit, every day when I open the curtains (unless it's foggy and thus invisible).

I just spoke with my mom. She said he said something similar to her yesterday about this trip. That he didn't want to stay with evil sister.
I have to call sweet sister and have a talk. I'm not going to have him miserable. He's never acted like this for past trips.

Moved 8 - 7 of mine and one that I am training for a friend. I have one more, but he is away on a lover's weekend.

These are very good points!

visits with older people with alzheimer disease might not be the best thing to do.

It does depend some on how the numbers are going in the local area though.

Our county is surging. I do not know about NY state
