It was only when a change to a carrier that didn't support the flip phone forced me that I went to a smart phone, and I have to admit, there are things that it does that are mighty useful. I no longer wear a watch - the phone replaced that decades ago. As soon as I discover a need for something, it gets added to the shopping list (on the phone). Most of what a smart phone can do is totally wasted with me, but it can be my navigator when I'm in an area I'm unfamiliar with, it winds up being my hot spot when our router goes down due to a power failure (not a rare occurrence) and if I want to post a picture, it's as easy as this:

I used to be rather tech savvy, I learned computers using DOS, now I'm a hopeless luddite. :gig
me too. I word-processed my thesis with Waterloo Script...including three 3-level indices - all command driven, when wysiwyg was little more than an idea! That was a huge improvement on using a typewriter, which was the norm then. And I remained ahead of most colleagues for about a decade. Then the extra benefits of new things coming along started to seem less obvious, then some new features started to be more trouble than they were worth, and so gradually I settled down with what I knew and liked, and got left behind. C'est la vie n'est pas?
I like having camera, phone and computer as distinct devices. Mobile phones [so-called; what we're talking about are hardly 'phones'] are amazing bits of kit, I just don't want one or need one.
