BYC Café

the whole (UK) country's been declared an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone :( Migrating waterfowl seem to be spreading it far and wide :(
I hope your flock stays safe! Yeah I'm also worried as our neighbor's basically wild guineas keep coming over...I've been keeping my ladies inside. It's rainy anyway so they'd probably still be inside but I have no idea what diseases those ugly birds could have. Neighbors don't seem to care. Last year their hens were everywhere too. Now they have them in a tiny run/coop. Makes me shudder every time I go past.

Several months ago I had an unpleasant interaction with a clerk at TSC. Until today I hadn't been back there, but I can't find Taste of the Wild anywhere else so today I returned. Wow! Did I ever receive a heart felt apology. She was so happy that I had returned - we both got a little emotional as we were really friendly before. I accepted her apology, we distance hugged, and I told her that I should have been more accepting of the fact that she was having a bad day. Sometimes I am such a tool. The Princess reprimands me on my unforgiving nature. I blame it on the Scottish DNA.
Oi! Easy with that Scotts stuff. I can't imagine how we got such a filthy reputation.:p

Yeah it's hard to know how your body is going to react to covid, although age definitely seems to be a key factor...also other previous health problems. Our church got a lighter strain, thankfully. Most just had some congestion like the flu, some had fevers, and some lost taste and smell for awhile. The spreading doesn't seem to be as easy as they first said, for example my bro got it back in April but the rest of my family didn't get it until about a month ago. My dad still hasn't gotten sick.🤷‍♀️ A church member got it (was tested positive n was feeling sick) but his wife still hasn't gotten sick at all. It's so weird. I don't know of anyone who had died from it except two extended family friends, but they both had cancer. It's strange stuff! No, I don't believe any of the tallies either, because so many people get it but don't bother getting tested, I think reported deaths are off some too. A neighbor boy drowned in a pond earlier this year and it turns out he had covid, so that was listed as a cause of death. That's not the only time I've heard about that happening. I just kind of stopped reading the news after awhile... I was getting depressed.😂
One would have thought that the responsible thing to do is not go to church.
Good grief.

Good evening Cafe.
Pot of tea on the counter. Help yourselves.
A bit chilly here today. I think it got down to ten centigrade during the day.
Cleaned my windows. Did a couple of coops. Got a bit of wood in the recently broken back window on the Nissan. That's going to cost someone a few quid. Not me forunately.
Everybody heading to where they intend to spend the weekend lockdown tonight.
Got the army on road blocks in the big towns apparently.

Anyone want to go for a swim? We have lots of water!
