BYC Café

Please explain this to me as I am a foreigner.
Your English is excellent. Spelling, the spell check sorts out.....sort of. It's your sentence construction that shows you have a very good grasp of the language.

Well, thank you very much @Shadrach ! You made me blush.

Don Quixote is a story from Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes
Although I am familiar with Don Quixote, I have to admit that I am struggling with English proverbs, but learning every day and enjoying it in doing so. And especially with all of you here in the Café. :D

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee, LF. I'd love to be able to take the dogs out for a hike this morning.
We still have a dusting of snow on the ground, it's 24F but expected to warm up to near 50.
Last day of work then I get to go back to dad's!
I picked up the flooring for the second lower level bedroom. The name doesn't match what I ordered but the SKU# does?? I have no idea until I crack open a box and lay it out.

English idiom is a nightmare - and new additions frequently have me foxed. I know this because the kids have a meme card game, and I don't understand about 10% of the captions - and I have a relatively very good vocab!

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee LF - 100% Arabica is wonderful ☕

I hate it when that happens! Hope that it is what you wanted...

It is dry and sunny today for a change, so I will be cracking on with the paddock hedge recovery (it hasn't been maintained for yonks) and getting some vit D!

Your English is excellent.
It is. I've often wondered if english is your first or second(3rd,4th,5th) language?

I can guess what foxed means by the context, but still...
...it's not just English idiom, but any cultures colloquialisms.
I love them all tho, fascinating.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! I will brew up some more to keep us all going.
It is a nice day here with a couple of snow shower days on tap and then getting nice again.
I hope the color in the box works for you, DL. I think we will haul some drywall scraps and other stuff off to the refuse yard and then who knows what might be on tap for fun.
Have a great day!
