We bake all our bread, rolls and pies, cookies etc. from organic whole grain. No prefabricated mixtures or other artificial additives here.

I do make most my own whole wheat bread, have for years.
But I actually used canned beans and tomatoes for my chili yesterday...
...and boxed corn bread.

ETA: But I think that with all the Covid-19 restrictions preventing us from real life gatherings tv can be a life saver for a lot of people who would otherwise succumb to depression etc.

Looks like an ash tree to me. Here, sadly almost all ash trees are dying from some kind of fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus : https://www.waldwissen.net/de/waldw...ze-und-nematoden/merkblatt-eschentriebsterben

I think you are right on top suspecting the emerald ash borer as one of the symptoms is described as vertical splits showing the larvae feeding habits.

Between the bugs and fungi, a lot of our trees are dying. It makes me so sad.

50% of the eggs have hatched already on day 20.

Ash dieback has affected a lot of the trees here. But resistant specimens are hanging on and hopefully will survive to reproduce.
I've been tidying up a corner of the garden and there are primroses out there! Surely they don't think it's spring? This year's weirdness just goes on and on...
