You're minor and mom pays all the bills?i’ve been starting to convince my mom to let me add to our flock. she said if i can contribute to food payments (she usually buys it all, we’re a family household) then i can get a pair of hens. what should i get if this works out? i’m thinking maybe silkies (there’s a person in the neighborhood nearby who breeds them) but i’m not sure!
I’m waiting until Spring. You're minor and mom pays all the bills?
Do you have space to add birds?
Integrating takes extra space.
Is it going in to winter where you are...and will you wait until spring for more birds?
ah, i didn’t realize you were quoting me!Have you looked into your state thread about getting older or point of lay birds
I turn the light on in the run first. It takes a few minutes to spread the feed around in there then go into the coop. So they are exposed to indirect light from the run first then I turn on the coop lights. No one startled.Did they startle when the light came on?
I have heard that there is a danger of them injuring themselves with the light coming on in the darkness. Some think it is better to add the extra light in the evening
