Very wet here too; gale blew through overnight and it is at least less windy now. But the ground is already saturated so there's lots of standing water. The chooks do not like it at all!

Have always used that term but maybe it's not so common as I thought, even here in the US.


It seems to have drained a bit, 20 years old I'm sure it's not water tight at the bottom.
I may have to help it along(ewww) as pickup day is Tuesday and temps will stay below freezing after tonight. I sure don't want it to freeze solid and don't really want to leave the water in there for when they dump it. BabblingBrain.

Good morning! Sunny here in a bit after it clears the cloud layer on the plains or maybe just rises, lol! 4F with a total of maybe 2-3 inches of snow. We will be off to wrestling practice this morning and then food shopping. I sold the last of the ordered firewood yesterday and now there are two half cords of emergency firewood left, looking lonely in the woodyard.
I pulled the splitter back up to our house to have something for DS$ to do over the school break. Thanks for the coffee and good luck with the garage, DL. Good luck dumping the herby curby, aart! ( Love it! )

Here Waste management gives us bins to use that are designed to be picked up by the claw on the truck.

you're probably not the first person to have left it open in the rain; perhaps they have a procedure for dealing with such bins...? Call the company tomorrow and ask for advice?
