Good morning Cafe. Coffee is on.

I have to roust DH in a few minutes to give him time to get dressed while I tend the flock. He has his preadmission blood work and EKG today for his biopsy procedure next Friday along with his Covid test for his Monday Colonoscopy. He goes back to the hospital Tuesday for his Covid test for his biopsy.
After his tests this morning, I'll bring him home, we'll have some breakfast then I head back out the door to go to work. I will likely take a half day as I don't think I'll make it 10 hours there. And poor Bella hasn't run in several days and she's stir crazy so I want to get home in time to get her out before it's dark. I'm pretty sure that will run my tank to empty.

I'm having issues with the hospital administration allowing me to escort DH for his actual procedures. It's against their policy. Well then how am I going to discuss DHs condition with the anesthesiologist? He is supposed to get the lightest sedation possible to get the procedure done and not adversely affect his confusion any more than necessary. And he gets stressed and agitated without me with him to help communicate with others and him about what is going on. And he may wander off not knowing any better. If they want to deal with all that and be responsible for him, give it try.
I allowed DH to go with the nurse to get his blood drawn and his EKG this morning without me. She came back with him and asked me if he was always this confused.
Well, yes, he has Alzheimer's.
Have you talked with Lisa yet? (Admissions manager)
No, but I left her a message.
You need to be with him before the procedure.
Oh? You think so, huh? What a good idea!

The "policy" needs to include the management of dementia patients such that their care givers/escorts are also Covid-19 tested. Problem solved.

Oh dear. This sounds as if they never ever before had the occasion to deal with or know of Alzheimer's or other dementia patients.

I guess they do not get Dementia?

Perhaps he should meet the guy I used to work with that had many surgeries and grafts on his face and hands after he was thrown clear through the windshield and skidded down the road a good distance.

Well there IS Zoom to be fond of. Maybe not so much for all those stuck using it for work daily but I've not seen any of my California relatives at Christmas for decades ... until last year And DW's aunt's 103rd BDay in Nov and my aunt's 80th last Saturday

I'll be working on it for about the same amount today but starting earlier.

Well I WAS going to say that Lumnah Acres (YouTube channel) had ducks and chickens together including 2 drakes and a bantam rooster without problems. But given what I read here later (and a shocking picture!) I would say no to drakes with your chickens.

Wow, that is amazing!! Decent cheese here is sold in much smaller quantities at $15-$25/pound. Even "common" cheese costs WAY more than $0.27/pound

You could ALMOST, MAYBE see that happening when Covid first started but geez by now they have procedures to follow and can certainly deal with a required caregiver attending the patient.
