Just about time for the morning dog walk. The mail wasn't here at afternoon walk yesterday, so maybe it's here now. Rural mail can be spotty in the depths of winter out here.
I remember some of the incredulous looks I got from coworkers when I told them there would usually be a day or two in the winter when I wouldn't get mail. Or about pausing before driving up a blind hill at night, killing the headlights to see if there was an oncoming car, because the road was only one car wide through the snow. Or about telling new neighbors about that trick and having them tell me that that was a really good idea.
