Well, he is going to State with a win at Regionals! His "This Year's Coach" gave him a big ole hug as this season was dedicated to a team member that didn't handle the Covid restrictions very well. Next weekend is a trip to Pueblo instead of the Pepsi Center this year, but I guess it just is what it is. The southern teams around Durango are probably very happy with the change in venue, Meeker area, not so much...

So all the rooting will pay off!

Last night, the couple that bought dad's house, I'll call them M&A, invited me, DH and Bella up for dinner tonight. I accepted immediately.

DH has been "off" today. I finally got it out of him that he doesn't want to go because he doesn't know them and he won't feel comfortable because he can't talk. They've already met him. Three times. And they know about his condition. It's sad he won't come. I told him he could just watch the dogs play, enjoy a great meal and just listen to the conversation. He's mulling it over but leaning towards "no".

Have you tried the old "Victor trap with PB under the catch all stuck in a wire dog crate" trick? I wiped all mine out that way.

Maybe. But more lead time gives him more time to forget the invitation in the first place. He rarely remembers where we are going even though I tell him a dozen times the day before and day of the trip.
He can't really think any longer. I've been puttering around in my PJs and he asked if Nan was coming over. The fact that I am still here doesn't register.

He will have bad and not so bad days I suppose.

When my late father in law was still living with us, some days he would not even know how to eat or drink nor regocnize his own son, and then suddenly he would remember the name of the Australian seargent he took POW back then in El Alamein and start an accurate narration of the events, including all the persons names and the dates and locations.
