Another 14 egg day. My crowing hen finally contributed. The big white egg in the middle.

I yanked my first of the season broody out of a nest box. It's Tonk, one of the Sebright pullets. All 1.3 pounds of her all puffed up and screeching at me. Adorable! :love

Oh my gosh, I bet she's so cute! She's tiny!

I'm going to have to tap some old customers and see if they are interested.
Mine have been waiting since fall, delivering 5 dozen tomorrow.

I'm trying to find some organic feed; the increase in $$$ could be offset by selling eggs.
Here organic feed is twice the price of "regular". Couldn't charge enough for eggs to pay for that.

I found an organic 20% all flock, made by Kalmbach. It was $16 for 50 pounds.
 that is amazing.

It can also describe foods grown without artificial pesticides or fertilizers.
That is the part people care about in animal food. I have found that organic bananas last longer than non organic bananas. There must be something in the pesticides/herbicides that adversely affects the fruit.

Since he looked it up in a book, maybe he jumped a line?
I wouldn't be surprised, that does seem like too good a deal.

All 1.3 pounds of her all puffed up and screeching at me.
And you said "I am SO SCARED!" just to make her feel better.

I don't know but presume organic bananas are not picked really green then sprayed to ripen on the way to the store. I worked on a storage warehouse that stored banana's. They would put them in a large chest 20' wide 30' high and I don't know how long and gas them to make them ripen. After that you only have so long i guess.
But you can't ship ripe banana's across the world and still make it to sell date either.
