BYC Café

I think I've figured out why Mystic is so much further stripped down of her muffs and beard than any other muffed/bearded bird in the flock. I have 5 EEs, Fabio and 5 of his daughters so they are all bearded and muffed, or supposed to be.

Mystic will be one on April 29. She is/was one of the lowest ranking birds in the flock and the nastiest because of it. I think when Mommy Dearest started plucking her, she was hoping to form some kind of alliance and just stood there and let her do it.

Now that MD is gone along with 3 of the highest ranking hens, she has ingratiated herself to Fabio. She is always glued to his side and is starting to show the wear from this.

Mystic may be the one that bloodied Peanuts ear one night and left her a blood splattered mess another morning after getting another good shot in on her comb. Peanut is my WLH so that was a sight to see.

This morning, Peanut walloped the hell out of Mystic over a meal worm.

:gig Was he laying down quietly in the back?
No, he was sitting up watching out the windshield,
probably wondering WTH I was hollering about.
Van was in dim garage and with tinted windows so I couldn't see inside there.

I really need to do something about this...
Do you usually sell eggs?

Yes. But I only kept one active customer over the winter. There were only enough eggs for her and us. Now I'm buried. I've given away a bunch and used a dozen to tip my hair dresser. She LOVED that! I'll have to send out some text to old customers and see if I can unload some.

Try these for stacking in the fridge:

Yes, these are some of what my girls lay.

The blue plastic device can be cleaned in the dishwasher and I stack them on top of each other at least 5-6 tiers high. Saves a lot of space in the fridge and is sanitary.
Would be good for hatching too. Love the Marans eggs.
