DH fell on Tues and hit his lower back ribs on the stair edge and has been hurting ever since, but not resting quite as he should. He burned a slash pile on Wed and then spent most of yesterday in even more pain, but resting...

Can you talk him into seeing a doctor and taking it easy? It would be terrible if he hurt it worse by not giving it time to heal.
I get being tough but sometimes you have to just stop the hard work and let the body recover.
