BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.
Another chilly morning of glorious sunshine and singing Cardinals.
I hope to finish the living room floor today. For the nearly 5 years we've lived in this house, I've had at least 80% of the room plywood floor. I've sent the finished floor down past the stove hearth and should finish today. I took 5 splinters to the fingers (2 under the nails) for my troubles.
It is good to see you working on your own place!

Snowing hard and I have a moosie taking a snooze by the driveway. She was unconcerned with us as I unloaded stuff from the Sam's run. Slash pile burned, lol, and now to deal with dinner. I have an idea for it even.
Sour, I bet your dogs will get the kinks out soon. It has been a long winter for everyone, except me, apparently.

Rather eventful day... The chickens got out. Totally my fault; thought I closed the door and didn't. It took an hour to get them all back inside. They've never been out before so I'm sure it was exciting and scary. Nobody got hurt, thank goodness.

I plan to make a secondary fence out of chicken wire. Just a back up in case they get by me when I open the door next time. They know what is on the other side of the door now...

I have a small yard before the main coop just for that reason ..

I made it to the other side.

I lost track of the splinters. One more under a nail. I really hate those. And one that drew blood and naughty words from my mouth.
I also installed all but one piece of baseboard in the mudroom, two 8' pieces in the living room, 2 headers, caulked 2 doorways and washed and hung two loads of clothes.
My back is sore and I feel GREAT!
SOOOO happy to be working on our house! :wee

Tonya.... YOU make me feel so lazy. . My brother used to give me grief for working so hard exspecially if it didn't help me. Why are you lining the neighbors drive with rock, what are they paying you, don't you make enough WHAT:eek: Your doing it for free. I must say I've had an unfinished barn when I moved in 5 years ago and still haven't put walls up. Always money or time.:he😢 But I must say when it comes to helping me I am the laziest person I know.
On that note I keep thinking I need a large lean to on each side of that barn (more money and more time) for storing equipment out of the rain. The little lawn mower or 4-wheeler covers don't quite cut it and don't last that long.

Morning! Thanks for the coffee!
Sunny with snow coming in, now they say "heavy snow." Whatever...
Meg, glad you got the branding done because they are just getting bigger every day and I bet you are sore, that's a JOB! I should have sent DS$ up there to help, lol!
DL, that is great that the floor is finished and I bet that is helping the gloom go away. Sorry about the fingers... My DH is feeling better and I think I will sick him on the other burn pile, just to keep him from getting into any more trouble.
Enjoy the day you all!
I have no good reason to be sore! I take no credit for working hard :p I normally get around 25,000 steps during branding and I got about 9k. Boo. But it was good and weather cooperated right up until the end. We got lucky and had a lot of great help.

Hate to hear the S word. Hope it doesn't take too long to dig out! Glad DH is feeling better.
